Dr. Mark M. Overstreet preaches, teaches, and writes with a passion for gospel ministry, missions, and leadership. In addition to his preaching and teaching, he leads seminars and consultations on primary and secondary orality, biblical teaching, discipleship, and preaching effectively. Since 2004, he has served as vice president and professor at Criswell College in Dallas, Texas, training pastors and teaching biblical and theological studies. His passions embrace worldview living, a zeal for missions, and preaching the gospel to a world that needs Christ. After receiving his undergraduate degree in medical biology, God called him from medicine to ministry. Prior to accepting the call to ministry, he worked in the hospital and surgery as medical associate to a team of orthopedic surgeons.
Before his service in Dallas, Dr. Overstreet taught courses at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Louisville, Kentucky, where he completed his masters and doctor of philosophy degrees in biblical studies and theology. Dr. Overstreet taught expository preaching and Christian proclamation at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. He has traveled extensively throughout the Middle East and many countries around the world. He remains committed to local and international missions and discipleship, until every nation has heard the gospel of Christ.
An energetic and passionate speaker, Dr. Overstreet enjoys practical and biblical engagement in the arenas of understanding Christ and culture, politics, and current events in the world. He has published numerous articles, chapters, and presented papers at national and international conferences. Dr. Overstreet and his wife Tiffanie have three sons and live outside of Dallas in Rockwall, Texas.
